From Mangroves in Kenya to Kelp Forests in Canada: A Local Step Forward
At 3C-Easy Markham, we’ve always believed that small actions can create meaningful environmental impact. For some time, our sustainability program supported mangrove tree planting in Kilifi, Kenya. Mangrove forests are incredibly valuable ecosystems that protect coastlines, capture carbon, and support marine life.
Today, we are making a simple but meaningful change.
Instead of planting mangroves overseas, our environmental initiative will now support kelp restoration projects in British Columbia, Canada.
Why the Change?
Kelp forests are one of the fastest-growing ecosystems on Earth and play a critical role in coastal health. They:
-
Absorb large amounts of carbon
-
Provide habitat for marine species
-
Help improve water quality
-
Support biodiversity along the Pacific coast
By shifting our planting efforts to British Columbia, we’re supporting restoration projects closer to home while continuing our commitment to environmental responsibility.
What Stays the Same
While the location of our environmental project has changed, our commitment remains exactly the same:
-
1 kelp will be planted for every order placed
-
20 plastic bottles will be removed for every review left
These initiatives allow our customers to participate in small but meaningful environmental actions simply by supporting our store or sharing their experience.
A Small Action, Multiplied
Every order and every review contributes to something bigger. Whether it’s restoring kelp forests along Canada’s coastline or removing plastic waste from the environment, these small steps add up.
Thank you for being part of the journey toward a cleaner and healthier planet. 🌊🌱
