3C-Easy Markham Responsible Business & Sourcing Principles

Last Updated: August 10, 2026

At 3C-Easy Markham, we believe responsible repair and retail practices involve more than completing a repair or selling a product. We aim to operate transparently, source products responsibly, protect customer property and information, reduce unnecessary electronic waste, and conduct our business in a lawful and professional manner.

These principles describe our general approach to responsible business practices. They are not intended to create additional warranties, guarantees, contractual obligations, or representations beyond those specifically provided under applicable law or in our Terms and Conditions, Warranty Policy, Privacy Policy, Return Policy, or other transaction-specific terms.

1. Responsible Product and Component Sourcing

We purchase repair components, accessories, devices, and related products primarily through established commercial suppliers, distributors, and recognized industry channels.

Where reasonably practical, we favour suppliers that provide identifiable business information, commercial documentation, and reasonable product traceability.

We do not knowingly purchase stolen property, unlawfully obtained devices, or products that we have reasonable grounds to believe may originate from improper or suspicious sources.

Electronics supply chains can involve multiple manufacturers, distributors, refurbishers, brokers, and subcontractors. As a result, complete upstream traceability may not always be available.

Where material sourcing concerns become known to us, we may request additional information, decline a purchase, discontinue a product, reconsider a supplier relationship, or take other reasonable steps.

2. Used, Refurbished and Reclaimed Components

Some repair components available within the electronics industry may originate from previously used devices or may have been professionally refurbished.

Where we offer refurbished, reclaimed, original-pull, or similar components, we seek to obtain them through established commercial channels rather than anonymous or unverifiable sources.

We do not knowingly purchase customer devices or so-called “parts phones” where lawful ownership appears questionable or where the circumstances create a reasonable concern regarding the source of the device.

Complete device-level provenance may not always be available for refurbished or reclaimed components supplied through established industry channels.

3. Accurate Description of Parts

We aim to describe products and repair components accurately based on information reasonably available from our suppliers, our own inspection, and our industry experience.

Depending on the product, descriptions may include terms such as:

  • Genuine / Service Pack
  • Original
  • Refurbished Original
  • Original Pull
  • Aftermarket
  • Premium Aftermarket
  • Compatible

We do not knowingly represent an aftermarket component as a genuine manufacturer component.

Terminology can vary between manufacturers, distributors, refurbishers, and the independent repair industry. Where the exact manufacturing history of a component cannot reasonably be confirmed, we avoid making claims that we cannot substantiate.

4. Counterfeit and Misrepresented Products

3C-Easy Markham does not knowingly sell counterfeit goods while representing them as genuine branded products.

Brand names, trademarks, and model names may be used where reasonably necessary to identify compatibility or describe products and services.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, aftermarket and compatible products are not manufactured, sponsored, authorized, or endorsed by the original device manufacturer.

If we become aware that a supplier has materially misrepresented a product, we may discontinue the product or reconsider the supplier relationship.

5. Transparent Repair Practices

We aim to provide customers with clear information regarding pricing, component options, significant known limitations, expected repair scope, and applicable warranty coverage where reasonably practical.

Electronic repairs may reveal hidden damage, previous repair issues, liquid exposure, board-level faults, deteriorated components, or other conditions that could not reasonably be identified before diagnosis or disassembly.

We do not knowingly recommend or perform unnecessary repairs solely for the purpose of increasing the value of a transaction.

Where additional chargeable work becomes necessary, we generally seek customer authorization before proceeding, subject to the applicable service agreement and circumstances of the repair.

6. Customer Devices and Property

Customer devices remain the customer's property while in our possession.

We take reasonable care when handling customer devices and components. However, electronic repair inherently involves disassembly and may expose pre-existing, hidden, progressive, or previously repaired damage.

Our handling of customer property is subject to our applicable repair Terms and Conditions, including provisions concerning hidden damage, data responsibility, previous repairs, component condition, and risks associated with repair.

7. Privacy and Customer Information

We seek to collect and use only information reasonably necessary to provide services, communicate with customers, process transactions, maintain required business records, prevent fraud, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Access to information stored on a customer's device should be limited to what is reasonably necessary for diagnosis, testing, verification, or completion of the requested service.

Customers are encouraged to maintain appropriate backups and secure or remove sensitive information where practical before submitting a device for repair.

Our handling of personal information is governed by our applicable Privacy Policy and legal obligations.

8. Warranty and Product Quality

We maintain documented warranty policies for eligible repair services and products.

Warranty duration and coverage may vary according to the product, component category, repair type, and service performed.

Warranty coverage generally applies to qualifying defects during the applicable warranty period and may exclude circumstances such as accidental damage, physical damage, subsequent liquid exposure, misuse, unrelated component failures, third-party intervention, or other exclusions stated in the applicable warranty terms.

Where another warranty or transaction-specific policy applies, that policy governs.

9. Legal, Tax and Business Compliance

3C-Easy Markham seeks to conduct its operations in accordance with applicable Canadian and Ontario laws and regulations relevant to our business.

Applicable taxes are collected and reported as required.

We do not offer or promote transactions on the basis of improperly avoiding applicable taxes.

Our business procedures and policies may be updated from time to time to reflect regulatory, operational, technological, or industry changes.

10. Environmental Responsibility, Batteries and Electronic Waste

Repairing a device can, where technically and economically practical, extend its useful life and reduce the need for premature replacement.

We seek to reduce unnecessary electronic waste and handle batteries, damaged components, and electronic materials in a responsible manner.

Where reasonably practical, we may:

  • repair or reuse devices and components where appropriate;
  • separate recyclable electronic materials from ordinary waste;
  • direct suitable batteries and electronic waste to recognized recycling or collection programs;
  • take appropriate precautions when storing and handling lithium batteries;
  • reduce unnecessary packaging and material waste;
  • reuse suitable packaging materials where appropriate; and
  • work with suppliers and service providers that demonstrate reasonable environmental practices.

Not every electronic component can be practically, safely, or economically reused or recycled.

Available recycling channels may also vary depending on the type, condition, chemistry, quantity, or safety characteristics of the material.

We may refuse to accept batteries, devices, or electronic materials that present an unreasonable safety risk, fall outside the scope of available recycling programs, or cannot reasonably be handled by our business.

Statements regarding recycling describe our general practices and objectives. They should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every component, battery, device, or material will be recycled, reused, or processed through any particular downstream facility.

11. Ethical Business Practices

We seek to conduct our business honestly and professionally.

3C-Easy Markham does not knowingly participate in bribery, fraud, theft, deliberate product misrepresentation, or other unlawful commercial activity.

We expect businesses with which we deal to conduct themselves lawfully and professionally.

However, we do not represent that we independently audit every supplier, manufacturer, distributor, refurbisher, or subcontractor involved in the production or distribution of the products we purchase.

Where serious ethical or legal concerns involving a supplier become known to us, we may review, restrict, or discontinue that relationship.

12. Intellectual Property

We respect the intellectual property rights of manufacturers, suppliers, and other businesses.

The sale, supply, or installation of compatible replacement components does not imply affiliation with, authorization from, or endorsement by the original device manufacturer unless expressly stated.

Manufacturer names and trademarks may be referenced for identification, compatibility, repair, or descriptive purposes.

13. Workplace Conduct and Safety

We aim to maintain a safe, respectful, and professional working environment.

We do not knowingly support forced labour, human trafficking, unlawful child labour, or abusive employment practices.

Because many electronics products pass through multiple upstream manufacturers and distributors, we cannot independently inspect or audit every facility involved in their production.

Where reasonably practical, we favour established suppliers that maintain their own responsible sourcing, workplace, environmental, or business-conduct standards.

14. Community Responsibility

We believe local businesses can contribute positively to the communities in which they operate.

Where practical and sustainable, 3C-Easy Markham may support charitable, environmental, or community initiatives through donations, participation, recycling programs, or other forms of assistance.

The organizations, programs, amounts, and forms of support may change over time and should not be interpreted as permanent commitments.

15. Supplier Expectations

To the extent reasonably applicable to their activities, we expect suppliers and commercial partners to:

  • comply with applicable laws;
  • accurately describe the products they supply;
  • avoid knowingly dealing in stolen or unlawfully obtained property;
  • respect intellectual property rights;
  • maintain reasonable product quality and safety controls;
  • protect confidential and personal information;
  • conduct business without bribery or corruption; and
  • maintain reasonable workplace, labour, and environmental practices.

These expectations may be considered when selecting or continuing supplier relationships.

They do not imply that 3C-Easy Markham independently audits, certifies, controls, or guarantees the conduct of every supplier or any upstream organization within its supply chain.

16. Continuous Improvement

Responsible business practices evolve alongside technology, regulation, supply chains, recycling options, and industry standards.

We may periodically review and update these principles as our business develops or as better information, practices, or services become available.

Where a meaningful issue within our own operations is identified, we aim to assess it and take reasonable corrective action where appropriate.

17. Scope and Limitations

These Responsible Business & Sourcing Principles are a public description of our general business philosophy and operating practices.

They are not intended to:

  • guarantee the conduct of any independent manufacturer, distributor, supplier, recycler, or other third party;
  • guarantee complete traceability of every product, component, device, or raw material;
  • guarantee that every electronic component or battery can be recycled or reused;
  • guarantee the continued availability of any particular recycling or collection program;
  • create rights or remedies beyond those provided by applicable law or specific contractual policies;
  • replace product-specific warranties, repair Terms and Conditions, Return Policies, Privacy Policies, or other applicable terms; or
  • represent that 3C-Easy Markham has independently audited every organization involved in its supply chain.

Where another 3C-Easy Markham policy specifically governs a transaction or service, that policy applies to the extent permitted by applicable law.
