Package Contents

  • 1 Ɨ ANKER PowerDrive PD 2 35W car charger
  • 1 Ɨ USB-C charging cable
  • Colour: Black
  • Vehicle and connected devices are not included

The exact connector configuration and length of the included USB-C cable should be confirmed from the retail packaging before purchase when a specific cable type is required.

Key Features

35W Total Dual-Port Charging

The ANKER PowerDrive PD 2 provides up to 35W of total charging output through its two charging ports.

  • USB-C port: Up to 20W
  • USB-A port: Up to 15W
  • Maximum combined output: Up to 35W

This configuration allows two compatible devices to be charged at the same time without requiring separate vehicle chargers.

Actual charging output depends on the connected devices, cable capability, supported charging protocols, battery condition, temperature, and whether one or both ports are in use.

The charger does not force the maximum wattage into every connected device. Each compatible device controls the amount of power it accepts.

20W USB-C Power Delivery

The USB-C port supports USB Power Delivery, commonly called USB PD, with charging output of up to 20W.

USB Power Delivery allows a compatible charger and device to communicate and select an appropriate charging voltage and current.

When used with a suitable cable, the USB-C port is suitable for fast charging many compatible:

  • USB-C iPhones
  • Lightning-equipped iPhones using a USB-C to Lightning cable
  • Samsung Galaxy smartphones
  • Google Pixel smartphones
  • USB-C tablets
  • AirPods charging cases
  • Portable power banks
  • Other compatible USB-C devices

A device must support USB Power Delivery to receive USB PD fast charging.

15W USB-A PowerIQ 2.0 Port

The USB-A port supports ANKER PowerIQ 2.0 charging technology and provides up to 15W for compatible devices.

PowerIQ technology is designed to identify compatible connected equipment and provide an appropriate charging output within the capabilities of the USB-A port.

The USB-A connection may be used with suitable:

  • USB-A to USB-C cables
  • USB-A to Lightning cables
  • USB-A to Micro-USB cables
  • Other compatible USB-A charging cables

The USB-A port does not provide USB-C Power Delivery. Devices requiring USB PD should be connected through the USB-C port using the correct cable.

Charge Two Devices Simultaneously

The two-port design allows one USB-C device and one USB-A device to be charged at the same time.

This may be useful for:

  • Charging a driver’s and passenger’s phones
  • Charging a smartphone and power bank
  • Charging a phone and wireless earbuds
  • Charging a navigation device and mobile phone
  • Supporting mixed USB-A and USB-C accessories
  • Keeping multiple devices powered during longer trips

Charging speed may change when both ports are occupied, depending on the devices and their power requirements.

Compatible with Modern and Legacy Charging Cables

The combination of USB-C and USB-A ports provides flexibility for both newer and older charging accessories.

The USB-C port supports modern USB-C fast-charging cables, while the USB-A port remains compatible with many traditional cables already used in vehicles.

This reduces the need to replace every existing charging cable when transitioning to newer USB-C devices.

Compact Vehicle-Friendly Design

The compact charger connects directly to a compatible vehicle accessory socket without occupying excessive space around the dashboard or centre console.

Its low-profile design makes it suitable for:

  • Cars
  • SUVs
  • Vans
  • Pickup trucks
  • Rideshare vehicles
  • Rental vehicles
  • Other vehicles with a compatible accessory socket

Fit may vary depending on the depth, angle, and surrounding trim of the vehicle’s accessory socket.

Easy-to-Locate Charging Ports

The charger is designed to make its charging ports easier to locate in a dark vehicle interior.

This may help users connect a cable at night without repeatedly removing the charger or searching around the centre console.

Drivers should connect or disconnect devices only when it is safe to do so. Do not allow charging accessories to distract from driving.

ANKER MultiProtect Safety System

The PowerDrive PD 2 incorporates ANKER’s MultiProtect safety system, designed to provide multiple layers of electrical protection during normal charging.

Depending on the charging conditions, these protections may include:

  • Overvoltage protection
  • Overcurrent protection
  • Temperature management
  • Short-circuit protection
  • Power regulation

Built-in protection reduces charging risk but cannot protect against every electrical or mechanical problem.

Do not use the charger with a damaged vehicle socket, damaged cable, contaminated connector, liquid exposure, unstable electrical system, or malfunctioning device.

Included Cable Information

A USB-C charging cable is included with this retail package.

The package information reviewed does not consistently specify:

  • Cable length
  • Whether the second connector is USB-C or USB-A
  • Maximum cable wattage
  • Supported data-transfer speed
  • Video-output capability

Customers requiring a particular connector type or cable specification should confirm the cable shown on the physical retail packaging.

The charger itself remains compatible with separately purchased cables that match the selected port and connected device.

Charging Performance Notes

Charging speed is determined by the complete charging setup, including:

  1. The vehicle’s electrical system
  2. The accessory socket
  3. The car charger
  4. The charging cable
  5. The connected device
  6. The charging protocol supported by the device
  7. Battery temperature and condition

For example:

  • A device accepting 5W may draw approximately 5W.
  • A device accepting 10W may draw approximately 10W.
  • A compatible device supporting 15W may draw up to approximately 15W.
  • A compatible USB PD device may receive up to 20W through the USB-C port.
  • A device requiring 25W, 30W, 45W, or more will remain limited by the charger’s available output.

Charging often slows as the battery approaches full capacity.

Device use while charging may also reduce the apparent charging speed. Navigation, video streaming, gaming, hotspot use, high screen brightness, and extreme cabin temperatures can increase power consumption.

Vehicle Compatibility

The charger is designed for use with a compatible vehicle accessory socket supplying approximately 12V DC.

It may be compatible with many:

  • Passenger cars
  • SUVs
  • Vans
  • Light trucks
  • Rental vehicles
  • Fleet vehicles

Compatibility depends on the vehicle’s electrical system and accessory-socket design.

Do not use the charger in an outlet with an unsupported voltage unless the manufacturer’s specifications clearly confirm compatibility.

Some vehicle accessory sockets remain powered after the ignition is turned off. Leaving charging accessories connected may gradually drain the vehicle battery, particularly if the vehicle is parked for an extended period.

Some warmth during charging may be normal. Excessive heat is not normal.

Troubleshooting

Device Does Not Charge

  • Confirm that the vehicle accessory socket has power.
  • Some sockets operate only while the ignition is on.
  • Remove and firmly reinsert the charger.
  • Test the other charging port.
  • Test a different compatible cable.
  • Inspect the device charging port for debris or damage.
  • Test another USB-powered device.
  • Confirm that the charger fits securely in the socket.

Charging Is Slower Than Expected

  • Use the USB-C port for compatible USB Power Delivery devices.

  • Remember that charging slows as the battery approaches full capacity.

Charger Disconnects on Rough Roads

A loose vehicle socket or poor physical fit may cause intermittent charging.

Stop using the charger if it cannot maintain a secure connection. Continued intermittent contact may cause heat, arcing, or damage to the charger or accessory socket.

Product Quality Notes

This is an ANKER-branded retail charging accessory, not an unbranded or generic vehicle adapter.

The PowerDrive PD 2 combines a USB-C Power Delivery port with a traditional USB-A PowerIQ 2.0 port, providing flexibility for households and vehicles that use a mixture of newer and older charging cables.

The charger is primarily intended for smartphones, tablets, accessories, and other moderate-power electronics. It should not be purchased as a substitute for a high-wattage USB-C laptop adapter.

Product packaging, printed specifications, regulatory markings, cable appearance, and minor cosmetic details may vary by production batch without affecting the product’s intended charging function.
