Product Description
Refurbished Original OLED Replacement Screen for Apple Watch Series 5
Restore image and touchscreen functionality on a compatible Apple Watch Series 5 with this refurbished original OLED replacement screen assembly.
This component retains an original Apple OLED display panel that has been professionally restored, normally through replacement of damaged outer glass and other necessary cosmetic, touch, or bonding materials.
A refurbished original OLED screen is intended for customers and repair professionals seeking display performance, fitment, contrast, viewing angles, and Always-On Display characteristics closer to the original factory screen than many aftermarket LCD or OLED alternatives.
The Apple Watch Series 5 was produced in 40 mm and 44 mm case sizes. Select the exact size and confirm the watch model number before ordering, as the two screen assemblies are not interchangeable.
This product is compatible with any color and any version (GPS / GPS+Cellular) of Apple Watch Series 5.

Common Screen-Failure Symptoms
Replacement may be appropriate when the watch:
- Has cracked or shattered front glass
- Displays no image
- Shows black spots, lines, discolouration, or image distortion
- Produces flickering or intermittent images
- Has areas of missing or inaccurate touch response
- Registers unintended or ghost touches
- Shows spreading black areas or OLED bleeding
- Displays an image but does not respond to touch
- Continues to vibrate or produce sounds while the screen remains black
- Has separated from the watch housing
- Stops displaying properly after impact or pressure damage
- Has corrosion or liquid damage around the display connector
- Shows abnormal brightness or colour behaviour
- Has damaged glass around the rounded display edges
- Does not display correctly in Always-On mode
These symptoms may also be caused by:
- Battery failure
- Logic-board damage
- Display-connector damage
- Liquid ingress
- Charging problems
- Software or watchOS faults
- Damaged internal flex cables
- Another defective component
Proper diagnosis is recommended before replacing the screen assembly.
Refurbished Original OLED Quality Notes
This product uses an original Apple OLED display panel that has undergone professional refurbishment.
The refurbishment process may include:
- Removal of damaged outer glass
- Installation of replacement cover glass
- Replacement of optical adhesive
- Cleaning and restoration of the original OLED panel
- Replacement or restoration of touch-related layers where required
- Inspection of display flex cables and connectors
- Testing of image and touch functions
- Testing of brightness and Always-On Display behaviour where applicable
Because the OLED panel has been previously used, refurbished screens may show minor differences in:
- Cosmetic condition
- Maximum brightness
- Colour temperature
- Display uniformity
- Existing image retention
- Oleophobic coating
- Edge finish
- Glass appearance
- Adhesive appearance
- Component markings
- Touch sensitivity
- Low-brightness performance
- Always-On Display uniformity
- Long-term consistency
Minor cosmetic or performance variation that does not materially affect normal operation may be consistent with the refurbished nature of the product.
A refurbished original OLED screen is not equivalent to a brand-new Apple service replacement.
OLED and Always-On Display Characteristics
The Apple Watch Series 5 uses an LTPO OLED display with Always-On Display capability.
OLED panels illuminate individual pixels and do not require a separate backlight.
Potential benefits include:
- True black levels
- High contrast
- Strong dark-scene performance
- Thin panel construction
- Wide viewing angles
- Efficient operation with darker interface elements
- Fast pixel response
- Original-like display geometry
- Support for reduced-refresh Always-On Display operation
The refurbished OLED panel may still show minor variation in:
- Brightness
- White balance
- Colour temperature
- Low-brightness uniformity
- Existing image retention
- Power consumption
- Always-On Display consistency
- Long-term colour stability
These variations may depend on the condition and previous usage history of the original OLED panel.
Always-On Display Notice
The Apple Watch Series 5 supports an Always-On Display mode that keeps a dimmed version of the watch face or supported app visible when the user’s wrist is lowered.
After installation, test:
- Normal active display mode
- Dimmed Always-On mode
- Wrist-raise activation
- Brightness transition between active and dimmed modes
- Display wake response
- Watch-face visibility
- Touch response after waking
- Battery drain during normal use
Always-On Display performance may also depend on:
- watchOS version
- Display settings
- Low Power Mode
- Battery condition
- Device temperature
- Software configuration
- Replacement screen condition
- Installation quality
A problem with Always-On Display does not necessarily mean the replacement screen is defective. Battery, software, sensors, logic-board circuitry, or settings may also affect operation.
Touchscreen and Force Touch Notice
The replacement screen includes an integrated touchscreen layer.
After installation, test:
- Standard taps
- Swipe gestures
- Long presses
- Edge and corner response
- Password-entry areas
- App navigation
- Notification interaction
- Control Centre access
- Digital Crown navigation
- Side-button operation
- On-screen keyboard input where applicable
The Apple Watch Series 5 originally supports pressure-sensitive Force Touch functions, although later watchOS versions may handle some interface functions differently.
Refurbishment, replacement components, adhesive, housing condition, watchOS, or installation quality may affect original Force Touch behaviour.
Touch problems may also be caused by:
- Damaged display connectors
- Bent connector pins
- Logic-board faults
- Incorrect screen alignment
- Adhesive pressure
- Housing distortion
- Software problems
- Another defective component
Display Fitment and Adhesive Notice
Apple Watch screens are bonded to the housing with perimeter adhesive.
Proper installation requires:
- Complete removal of old adhesive
- Cleaning of the housing edge
- Correct alignment of the replacement screen
- Suitable watch-specific adhesive
- Even pressure during curing
- Inspection for housing distortion
- Correct flex-cable routing
- Full testing before sealing
Poor fitment may result in:
- Raised screen edges
- Uneven gaps
- Dust entry
- Reduced moisture resistance
- Display separation
- Flex-cable stress
- Touch problems
- Premature adhesive failure
A bent, dented, corroded, or damaged watch housing may prevent the refurbished screen from seating correctly.
No adhesive, tools, clamps, seals, or installation materials are included unless specifically stated.
Battery and Screen-Separation Notice
A screen lifting away from the watch housing may be caused by a swollen battery rather than failed adhesive alone.
Before installing the replacement screen, inspect the battery for:
- Swelling
- Deformation
- Leakage
- Puncture damage
- Overheating
- Pressure against the display
Do not press a lifted screen back into place when battery swelling is suspected.
Installing a replacement screen over a swollen or damaged battery may cause:
- Cracked glass
- Internal OLED damage
- Screen separation
- Short circuits
- Excessive heat
- Fire or chemical hazards
- Logic-board damage
The battery should be replaced before screen installation when swelling or physical damage is present.
GPS and Cellular Compatibility Notice
Apple Watch Series 5 was produced in GPS and GPS + Cellular configurations.
The external screen size may appear identical within the same case size, but regional and internal revisions can vary.
Before installation, compare:
- Flex-cable shape
- Connector layout
- Mounting position
- Display backplate
- Sensor openings
- Printed part numbers
- Housing clearances
- Cellular antenna areas where applicable
A replacement screen intended for one revision may not function correctly in another watch.
Installing an incompatible screen may cause:
- No image
- Failed touch
- Intermittent operation
- Poor fitment
- Connector damage
- Flex-cable damage
- Pressure against internal components
Installation Notes
Professional installation is strongly recommended.
Apple Watch screen replacement requires controlled heat, precision tools, careful opening, and handling of very small internal components.
Improper handling may damage:
- Refurbished OLED display
- Display flex cables
- Logic board
- Battery
- Force Touch components
- Digital Crown components
- Side-button components
- Speaker
- Microphone
- Taptic Engine
- Antennas
- Housing
- Internal connectors
- Cellular components where applicable
Before final installation:
- Confirm the exact Apple Watch model number
- Confirm whether the watch is 40 mm or 44 mm
- Confirm whether the watch is GPS or GPS + Cellular
- Compare the replacement screen with the original component
- Inspect the glass, OLED panel, flex cables, and connectors
- Inspect the housing for bends, dents, corrosion, or impact damage
- Check the battery for swelling
- Power off the watch where possible
- Disconnect the battery before removing or connecting display components
- Avoid sharply bending, folding, puncturing, or stretching display flex cables
- Do not pull the screen away from the housing abruptly
- Remove all old adhesive from the housing
- Keep dust, fingerprints, and adhesive away from the display
- Test the screen before applying final adhesive
- Test image quality
- Test black, white, and solid-colour backgrounds
- Test brightness

- Confirm that the screen sits evenly in the housing
- Do not seal the watch until all functions have been tested
Do not force connectors into place.
Bent pins, damaged sockets, torn flex cables, excessive heat, pressure, or incorrect tool use may permanently damage the screen or logic board.
OLED panels are sensitive to pressure. Internal debris, a swollen battery, damaged housing, or incorrect component placement may cause internal OLED damage even when the outer glass remains intact.
Water-Resistance Notice
Opening an Apple Watch compromises the original factory seal.
Replacement adhesive may help reduce exposure to dust and incidental moisture, but original water resistance cannot be restored or guaranteed after repair.
This is especially important for a wearable device regularly exposed to:
- Sweat
- Rain
- Hand washing
- Steam
- Humidity
- Exercise
- Temperature changes
A repaired Apple Watch should not be relied upon for swimming, showering, or other water exposure.
Even when the screen appears fully seated, sealing performance may be reduced by:
- Housing damage
- Adhesive quality
- Improper cleaning
- Uneven pressure
- Screen or glass variation
- Previous repairs
- Corrosion
- Production tolerances
Avoid exposing the repaired watch to water, steam, high humidity, or other liquids.
