Product Description
UAG Standard Issue Folio Case for Apple iPad Air 2024 / 2025 / 2026 – 11-Inch and 13-Inch – Black
Protect your compatible Apple iPad Air with the UAG Standard Issue Folio Case in black.
Designed for portable everyday protection, the Standard Issue Folio combines lightweight PU and TPU materials with a fitted protective shell, magnetic folio closure, automatic wake and sleep support, protected Apple Pencil storage, and a multi-angle stand with magnetic positioning.
The front folio helps shield the display while the iPad is carried or stored and folds into an adjustable stand for typing, reading, drawing, presentations, video calls, and media viewing. Its lightweight construction helps protect against everyday drops, scratches, bumps, and surface wear without the bulk of a heavier multi-layer enclosure.
Separate versions are available for the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air. Each selected size is compatible with the corresponding:
- 2024 iPad Air with M2
- 2025 iPad Air with M3

Lightweight PU and TPU Construction
The Standard Issue Folio combines polyurethane and thermoplastic polyurethane materials to provide a balance of flexibility, structure, grip, and everyday protection.
The construction may include:
- Flexible TPU perimeter
- Protective rear shell
- PU folio exterior
- Soft device-contact surfaces
- Reinforced corner areas
- Integrated magnetic components
- Formed button and port openings
Potential advantages include:
- Lower weight than many heavy-duty tablet cases
- Easier installation and removal
- Better impact absorption than an unprotected tablet
- Improved scratch and scuff protection
- Comfortable everyday handling
- Slimmer storage in bags and backpacks
“Featherlight” and “lightweight” are comparative descriptions. The case still adds some weight and thickness as part of its protective function.
Four-Foot Drop Protection
The Standard Issue Folio is designed to help protect a compatible iPad Air against drops of up to 4 ft / 1.2 m under controlled testing conditions.
Protective performance is supported by features such as:
- Flexible TPU construction
- Reinforced perimeter
- Protected corners
- Secure device fitment
- Front folio coverage
- Raised display surround
- Impact-dispersing materials
A drop rating does not mean that the case or iPad is indestructible.
Actual protection depends on:
- Drop height
- Impact angle
- Surface type
- Whether the folio is open or closed
- Case condition
- iPad condition
- Correct installation
- Existing display or housing damage
- Whether the iPad strikes a sharp or raised object
- Repeated drops
No tablet case can guarantee protection against every incident.
Folio Display Protection
The front folio cover helps protect the iPad display while the device is:
- Carried by hand
- Stored in a backpack
- Placed in a work bag
- Transported between classes
- Stored on a desk
- Not actively being used
The cover may help reduce contact with:
- Keys
- Pens
- Cables
- Desk surfaces
- Bag contents
- Dust
- Light debris
- Ordinary scratches and scuffs
The folio cover is not a substitute for a tempered-glass screen protector.
Objects trapped between the folio and display may still scratch the screen. Keep the interior of the cover clean.
Automatic Wake and Sleep Cover
The magnetic folio is designed to support the iPad’s automatic wake and sleep function.
When operating normally:
- Opening the cover may wake the iPad
- Closing the cover may place the iPad into sleep mode
This feature improves convenience and may help reduce unnecessary screen-on time.
Automatic wake and sleep operation depends on:
- Exact iPad model
- Correct case selection
- Magnetic alignment
- Case installation
- iPadOS
- Device settings
- Magnet condition
The feature may not operate correctly if:
- The wrong case size is selected
- The folio is misaligned
- Magnetic accessories interfere
- The case is damaged
- The iPad has a hardware fault
- Software behaviour changes
The case cannot repair an existing magnetic sleep-sensor fault.
Magnetic Folio Closure
The cover uses magnetic closure to help keep the folio shut when the iPad is not in use.
A secure closure may help:
- Protect the display during transport
- Reduce accidental opening
- Keep the cover aligned
- Maintain a compact profile
- Support automatic wake and sleep operation
Magnetic holding strength may vary according to:
- Case wear
- Debris
- Added accessories
- Screen-protector thickness
- iPad position
- Production variation
The folio closure is not a locking mechanism.
Do not carry the iPad solely by gripping the folio flap.
Multi-Angle Stand
The folio folds into a stand with multiple viewing positions.
The stand may be used for:
- Typing
- Reading
- Drawing
- Note-taking
- Video streaming
- Video calls
- Presentations
- Online classes
- Recipes
- Photo viewing
- Desk use
- Portable workstation use
Magnetic positioning helps hold the folio at supported angles.
Available angles depend on:
- Selected iPad size
- Surface type
- Folio condition
- Device orientation
- Cover position
- Added accessories
Use the stand on a flat, stable surface.
Upright Viewing Position
A more upright position may be useful for:
- Movies
- Video calls
- Presentations
- Reading
- External keyboard use
- Desktop display
- Reference material
- Apple Intelligence and productivity applications
Stability may be reduced on:
- Soft bedding
- Uneven furniture
- Sloped surfaces
- Moving vehicles
- A person’s lap
- Narrow ledges
Keep the iPad away from the edge of tables or counters.
Typing and Drawing Position
A lower stand angle may be suitable for:
- On-screen typing
- Handwriting
- Note-taking
- Apple Pencil use
- Drawing
- Photo editing
- Document annotation
Applying heavy downward pressure may cause the stand to shift or collapse.
The case is not intended to function as a rigid drafting stand.
Protected Apple Pencil Holder
The case includes a dedicated protected holder for compatible Apple Pencil models.
The holder helps keep the stylus:
- Attached to the iPad
- Accessible during work
- Protected during transport
- Less likely to be misplaced
- Positioned near the magnetic charging area where applicable
Apple Pencil is not included.
Apple Pencil Pro Compatibility
The listed 2024, 2025, and 2026 iPad Air models support Apple Pencil Pro.
Depending on the selected iPad model and software, Apple Pencil Pro may support:
- Magnetic attachment
- Wireless pairing
- Wireless charging
- Pressure-sensitive drawing
- Squeeze gestures
- Barrel roll
- Haptic feedback
- Find My support
- Apple Pencil hover
The case does not add these functions to an unsupported stylus or repair a defective Apple Pencil.
After installing the case, confirm:
- Pencil attachment
- Pencil charging
- Bluetooth pairing
- Stylus removal
- Stylus insertion
- Case closure
- Stand operation
Apple Pencil USB-C Compatibility
The listed iPad Air models also support Apple Pencil USB-C.
The protected holder may provide storage for the USB-C Apple Pencil, but its charging behaviour differs from Apple Pencil Pro.
Apple Pencil USB-C charges through its USB-C connection and does not support the same wireless charging feature set as Apple Pencil Pro.
Confirm that the stylus:
- Fits securely
- Can be removed without excessive force
- Does not prevent the folio from closing
- Does not interfere with stand positioning
Apple Pencil Storage Limitations
Stylus security depends on:
- Correct stylus model
- Case condition
- Holder elasticity
- Proper insertion
- Normal intended use
The holder cannot guarantee that the Apple Pencil will never be:
- Lost
- Stolen
- Ejected during a severe impact
- Damaged during transport
- Scratched by trapped debris
Inspect the holder regularly for stretching, tearing, or damage.
Landscape Front-Camera Compatibility
The compatible 2024, 2025, and 2026 iPad Air models position the front camera on the landscape edge.
The Standard Issue Folio is shaped to preserve normal camera and sensor access.
Correct case fitment should support:
- FaceTime
- Video conferencing
- Centre Stage
- Front-camera photography
- Microphone operation
- Landscape video calls
- Online classes and meetings
The case cannot repair:
- A defective front camera
- Microphone failure
- Centre Stage problems
- Software faults
- Internal camera damage
Keep the camera opening clean and unobstructed.
Rear-Camera Protection
The fitted rear shell includes an opening around the rear camera.
A raised perimeter may help reduce direct camera contact with flat surfaces.
Protection remains limited when:
- The iPad lands directly on a sharp object
- The surface is uneven
- The case is damaged
- The camera glass is already cracked
- The impact is severe
A separate camera protector may alter case fitment and should be tested for compatibility.
Touch ID Access
The compatible iPad Air models use Touch ID in the top button.
The case is designed to preserve access to this control.
After installation, test:
- Touch ID recognition
- Top-button operation
- Device locking
- Device waking
- Finger placement
- Button travel
Touch ID performance may be affected by:
- Incorrect case installation
- Dirt or oil
- Existing sensor damage
- Wet fingers
- Software
- A case edge obstructing the sensor
The case does not repair a defective Touch ID sensor.
USB-C Port Access
The case includes an opening for the iPad’s USB-C port.
It is intended to preserve access for:
- Charging
- Data transfer
- External storage
- USB-C hubs
- Displays
- Audio accessories
- Compatible keyboards
- Other USB-C devices
Some accessories with oversized connector housings may not fit through the case opening.
Do not force a connector.
When an accessory does not insert fully:
- Remove the case.
- Test the accessory directly with the iPad.
- Use a slimmer connector or suitable extension where appropriate.
- Confirm that the accessory is compatible with the iPad.
Speaker and Microphone Access
The case includes model-specific openings intended to preserve normal speaker and microphone operation.
After installation, test:
- Music playback
- Video audio
- Speakerphone
- Voice recording
- FaceTime
- Video calls
- Siri
- Microphone input
Reduced sound may result from:
- Incorrect case model
- Incomplete installation
- Debris
- Protective film
- Existing speaker damage
- Moisture
- Software settings
Compatibility With Screen Protectors
The Standard Issue Folio is compatible with many properly fitted screen protectors.
Compatibility with every protector cannot be guaranteed.
A protector may interfere if it:
- Extends beyond the display edge
- Uses a thick raised border
- Is incorrectly aligned
- Has lifting edges
- Is part of a full-body protective system
- Changes the installed height of the iPad
Case interference may cause:
- Screen-protector lifting
- Bubbles
- Edge pressure
- Cracking
- Reduced adhesion
Install the screen protector before fitting the case and inspect the complete perimeter.
Compatibility With Keyboard Accessories
The Standard Issue Folio includes its own protective shell and stand.
It should not be assumed to fit simultaneously with:
- Apple Magic Keyboard
- Keyboard folio cases
- Smart Keyboard Folio
- Other shell-based keyboard systems
- Cases that attach through the same iPad edges
A separate Bluetooth keyboard may generally be used while the iPad remains in the case.
Physical compatibility with docks, stands, keyboards, and USB-C accessories varies.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Remove the iPad before cleaning the case with liquid.
Clean the case using:
- Soft microfiber cloth
- Mild soap
- Lightly dampened cloth
- Clean water where appropriate
Avoid:
- Bleach
- Acetone
- Strong solvents
- Abrasive pads
- Sharp tools
- Excessive moisture
- Machine washing
- Dishwasher cleaning
- Prolonged soaking
- High heat
Allow the case to dry completely before reinstalling the iPad.
PU Folio Care
The polyurethane folio surface may show normal wear over time, including:
- Creases
- Scuffs
- Glossy areas
- Edge wear
- Fingerprints
- Pressure marks
- Surface scratches
To extend its useful life:
- Keep it away from sharp objects
- Avoid folding it beyond the designed hinge points
- Do not store heavy objects on top
- Keep it dry
- Clean spills promptly
- Avoid prolonged sunlight and heat
- Do not use harsh chemicals
Normal cosmetic wear is not necessarily a manufacturing defect.
Magnet Safety and Interference Notice
The folio contains magnets for closure, stand positioning, and automatic wake and sleep support.
Magnets may affect certain items, including:
- Magnetic-stripe cards
- Hotel key cards
- Security badges
- Transit cards
- Compass-sensitive equipment
- Certain medical devices
Keep magnet-sensitive cards away from the case.
Users with implanted or external medical devices should follow the device manufacturer’s separation guidance and consult a qualified healthcare professional where necessary.
Heat and Charging Notice
The case may retain some heat during:
- Fast charging
- Gaming
- Video editing
- Video calls
- Data restoration
- Software updates
- High-performance applications
- Direct sunlight
The iPad may automatically reduce charging speed or performance when it becomes warm.
Remove the case temporarily and allow the iPad to cool if:
- A temperature warning appears
- Charging repeatedly stops
- The device becomes unusually hot
- Performance drops substantially
Do not cover the iPad with bedding or fabric while charging.
Water and Moisture Notice
The Standard Issue Folio is not waterproof.
It does not seal:
- USB-C port
- Speakers
- Microphones
- Buttons
- Camera
- Display perimeter
- Apple Pencil area
The case does not increase, restore, or guarantee the iPad’s resistance to water or dust.
After moisture exposure:
- Remove the iPad from the case.
- Dry the iPad separately.
- Dry the case completely.
- Inspect the USB-C port and speaker openings.
- Reinstall only after all components are dry.
Liquid damage to the iPad is not covered by the case warranty.
Protection Limitations
The Standard Issue Folio is designed to reduce the risk of everyday physical damage.
It cannot guarantee protection against:
- Every drop
- Cracked displays
- Bent housings
- Camera damage
- Internal hardware damage
- Crushing
- Vehicle damage
- Severe pressure
- Liquid ingress
- Fire or extreme heat
- Theft or loss
- Existing device damage
The folio should be replaced if it becomes:
- Torn
- Warped
- Cracked
- Loose
- Stretched
- Unable to retain the iPad securely
- Unable to close correctly
- Unable to support the stand position
Product Condition and Packaging
This listing is for a new genuine UAG Standard Issue Folio Case.
Packaging may predate the release of the 2026 iPad Air and may identify only the 2024 or 2025 generation even when the selected case is also physically compatible with the corresponding 2026 M4 model.
Packaging may also vary according to:
- Selected size
- Production batch
- Distribution region
- Retail channel
- Language
- Environmental packaging revision
Minor differences in packaging, labels, logos, year references, or finish do not necessarily affect compatibility or performance.
Verify the case size and supported model numbers rather than relying only on the year printed on the package.
